This is my most personal work to date. In early April my mom asked me to write a song for her. It’s never possible to fully describe a person with a song, but I hope that “Jolanda” captures the essence of her being and I’m happy to release it on Mother’s Day weekend as a gift to her. My long time friend Kirk Whalum is a featured artist on this track, gracing the song with his warmth and signature phrasing on soprano saxophone. I hope you enjoy “Jolanda”.
